5.0 out of 5 stars GPS for my Bike, April 12, 2011
This review is from: Teletype 3500 World Nav3500 Motorcycle and Bicycle GPS (Electronics)
I finally got myself and Motorcycle GPS. I purchased it because I got tired putting my old non bike GPS into plastic bag so the rain will not get to it.
The price of the Worldnav was just right.

So far I am very pleased with the device. Menu is simple and I can navigate and clearly hear commands. The device does not have XM but it is not that important to me.

I called Teletype about modifying my cable for the headset because I wear "Half Helmet" and wanted to play my GPS not through their speaker by my own headset. I followed Teletype advice and spliced my cable with 3.5 mm adapters that I purchased from Radio Shack. You need one 3.5mm plug and 1 3.5mm jack. That took me about 15 min to do as I am familiar on how to do soldering. They also offered to me to do the job. ($$)
Extension or other type of cables can be inserted.

This option gave me flexibility not only to use their dedicated Bluetooth headset but also my own headset. I will... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars teletype 3500, April 3, 2011
This review is from: Teletype 3500 World Nav3500 Motorcycle and Bicycle GPS (Electronics)
It's O.K. for the money, however It has a couple of issues. I found a software glitch with the SD card when you try to change the arrow cursor to anything else. Reported it and hope to hear from them soon. Also, Don't like the bluetooth earpiece. Would be better if you could attach the main part to your belt and a long cord to reach with a decent earpiece. Instead it has a piece that attaches to your helmet with a short earpiece that velcros to the inside of a full or 3/4 helmet but if you have a half helmet, the ear piece can't be placed anywhere comfortable. Another idea would be to be able to pair another earpiece such as a phone earpiece. Plan on using it on long trip so don't know yet how it will hold up but the gps unit looks really solid. Good Idea just a little more thought to process.

It is simplest GPS for Motorcycle I have seen so far. It has built in Bluetooth headset that pairing does not require you to be a computer wizard. Speaker that comes with the GPS fits very nicely into my helmet. Navigation of menu is very simple.
Feature of saving your route and replaying on web page is not super easy but it is better then not having it.
Unit is built well. Was once with during a rainy day and it seems survived. It is a waterproof device. I called support once and was please to see they answered my question about exporting my route right away.
The device comes with all support hardware for handlebar but I liked RAM mount better so I was pleased to see that mounting bracket fits exactly.
